The Story

HIVESWAP: ACT 1 begins with Joey Claire, a 14-year-old girl living in a mansion in the suburbs of Hauntswitch, Washington. She loves dancing, animals, and detective stories. She also has a brother named Jude, who is obsessed with conspiracy theories and survival tactics. One night, while their father is away on business, Joey and Jude are attacked by a group of mysterious monsters. Joey manages to escape through a portal in the attic, but Jude is left behind.

Joey finds herself on Alternia, a planet inhabited by a race of aliens called trolls. Trolls are divided into a rigid caste system based on the color of their blood, which ranges from burgundy to fuchsia. The higher the blood color, the more power and privilege the troll has. Joey meets Xefros Tritoh, a lowblood troll who is part of a rebel group called the Hiveswap. Xefros helps Joey survive the dangers of Alternia, while Joey tries to find a way back home.

Meanwhile, on Earth, Jude is contacted by Dammek, Xefros's friend and leader of the Hiveswap. Dammek has swapped places with Joey and is now hiding in her mansion. Jude and Dammek have to work together to fend off the monsters and find out what is behind the portal.
